Gary Whitehawk is a Singer, Songwriter and Musician.
He writes songs that relate to his personal lifetime experiences, vast enough to fill a tome.
From childhood to adulthood, love, bliss, sorrow and regret, the things that memories are made of.
When he performs, the words, and, music flow from deep within, with true feeling from the heart and soul.
Gary started playing Guitar at age ten, and times were hard.
He would pick up soda pop bottles to sell so he could buy Guitar Strings.
Gary had a couple of Guitar lessons from a neighbor that had a two piece band and emulated Johnny Cash.
Gary would sit and watch them when they practiced and try to play along.
Watching where the Guitar player was placing his fingers.
Soon this neighbor moved away, but Gary kept trying on his own.
Gary earned enough money from doing odd jobs for other neighbors
And finally had enough money to buy a book with Guitar Chord finger positions.
Gary then taught himself as many chords as he could.
Always trying to play along with songs on the Radio.
And at this time in history, Country Music and Good Old Rock and Roll
Was about all there was to listen to on the Radio.
As time went on he finally earned enough money to buy an Electric Guitar.
Sometime later he found some other youngsters to play with and formed a small band
Which at times drove the neighbors crazy.
When in Elementary School his class had a Talent Contest.
At this time Elvis was becoming a huge hit.
Gary signed up for the Talent Contest and was going to sing a song by Elvis titled
"Don't Be Cruel". At this time, Elvis had not exactly been accepted by many folks
So Gary's teacher vetoed this song, which was quite a disappointment for Gary.
Playing with other bands over time and trying to emulate popular artists
Helped Gary develop, his own style, from Country, Blues, Rock, Folk, Etc.
Then came a time in his life when everything changed
Gary married a wonderful woman, who gave him two beautiful Daughters.
Music did not go away, but trying to make a living with it would not pay the bills.
For many years to come, raising a family was the most important.
His Music was left lingering in the background.
Today with two married Daughters and Grandchildren, Gary is finally living his life, long dream
Playing his music, and still married to the same wonderful woman.
Being mostly a self taught musician, Gary took advanced lessons from an excellent instructor.
Now he is playing his music again, and working on his first CD.
